Playhouse Offers Free Tickets for 100th Season | News, Sports, Jobs

Youngstown Playhouse will offer 6,000 free tickets to students and families for performances during its 100th anniversary season through a new program called “Hearts for the Arts.”

According to Playhouse Board President Dr. John Cox, “We’re proud of the work we’ve done to entertain and educate our audiences over the years, and we want to continue to reach new audiences. The arts offer so much to the community and we are excited to open our doors to more patrons.”

By “Hearts for the Arts”, The Playhouse will give away 150 tickets for each mainstage performance during its 2024-25 season.

It will also give away 200 tickets for each show on the Playhouse Youth Theater main stage, in addition to the free performances of “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic” and “The Lightning Thief” that each will be seen by 450 students.

The Playhouse is working with Youngstown City Schools, Beatitude House, the Boys & Girls Club and local churches to help identify students and families who will benefit from the program.

Those wishing to attend the program should call the box office at 330-259-9651 and ask “Hearts for the Arts” tickets.
