On July 30, the BLACK PINK Member shared an Instagram story celebrating BLACKPINK’s stylist’s birthday, featuring a cheerful photo of her stylist holding a birthday cake.
The controversy started when Jennie was filmed smoking indoors and blowing smoke at a member of staff during a make-out session. The incident prompted a swift apology from Jennie through her agency, OA Entertainment, on July 9. The agency expressed, “We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie’s behavior in the content released on the 2nd. Jennie reflects on smoking indoors and causing inconvenience to other staff members. She also contacted the staff member present at the scene to apologize directly,” said Kbizoom.
