From portraying a half-Filipino, half-Korean fighter in “Black Rider,” Kim Ji-soo is set to take over the reins of child psychiatrist Dr. Kim Young in the long-running afternoon drama ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’.

Kim’s casting was confirmed by GMA Network on its Facebook page on Saturday, August 17, which shared a poster of the South Korean actor wearing a cream jacket and jeans.

“All the way from South Korea, APEX certified doctor na oppa (new APEX doctor who is a certified man),” read the text on the poster.

The network shared a sneak peek of Kim’s role in a trailer the same day, showing him walking into the halls of the fictional APEX hospital, where he confronted Dra. Analyn Santos (Jillian Ward) on how to approach children.

“You don’t talk to a kid like that,” Kim said as Ward looked at him with a shocked expression. Another scene showed the actress falling over Kim in what appeared to be a romantic scene.

“Abot Kamay na Pangarap,” which airs from September 2022, tells the story of teenage neurosurgeon Analyn Santos, who is billed as a “child genius.” The drama also stars Carmina Villarroel, Richard Yap, Pinky Amador, Dominic Ochoa and Andre Paras.

Kim is best known for his leading roles in the K-dramas ‘Scarlet Heart’, ‘Strong Woman Do Bong-soon’, ‘When I Was the Most Beautiful’ and ‘My First My First Love’ to name a few.
