On Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14, viewers tune in Today The show found a missing familiar face and it was all for a sincere reason.

Beloved NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie took some time off to celebrate a special family milestone — her daughter Vale’s 10th birthday. Opting for quality time in front of the morning show, the 52-year-old morning host decided to stay home, making the day memorable for her little girl, who she shares with husband Michael Feldman.

Hoda Kotb clarified her co-host’s absence right at the start of the show, noting that Guthrie was taking a “well-deserved” break. Being her nurturing nature, the mother of two was not silent on the happy occasion, taking to Instagram to share a cascade of memories and an emotional note: “Ten years of this magical girl – all my heart and soul. Happy birthday dear Vale!”

The post instantly resonated with fans and fellow parents, sparking a series of adorable comments.

“Oh dear double digit girl! Hold on to mommy as long as you can so that one day she’ll hold you tight!” one person said.

The 42-year-old news personality paid sweet tribute to her newly minted 9-year-old daughter on her own Instagram, writing: “Happiest birthday to my sunshine girl: Poppy Louise! She’s hilarious, loving and completely original! Nine years with this beauty: and my world is more fun, more dazzling and definitely filled with more laughter. We love you!
